AMMUNITION are from St Agnes on the North Coast of Cornwall, set within a rugged and beautiful landscape that has undoubtedly inspired and forged itself into their music.
Recorded at Abbey Road in The Beatles' Studio 2, their debut album soars between searing guitar driven rock’n roll to beautiful, sensitive and thought provoking songs ornamented by Brass Bands and String Quartets.
Joe Francis' songs tell stories of harbor town feuds and fights, atlantic summer storms, beach fires at night, postcards home from soldiers at war, and the endless summer of youth.
The album is rich in local imagery, his lyrics have absorbed the atmosphere, scenery and way of life of this unique place by osmosis as he takes you effortlessly through cellar bars, dimly lit small town streets, cathedral caves, discos and from one century or decade to another.
Legendary studio engineer Phill Brown, who worked on the album, has recorded Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Robert Plant, Little Feat, John Martyn and many others. He has described "The Lost William Testament" as a classic sounding album.
