On October 22 Nate James releases High Times, the second track to be lifted from his sophomore album, ‘Kingdom Falls.’ Produced by 1Xtra favourite Danny S (Britney Spears, David Bowie, Gwen Stefani), it’s an uplifting feel good track that has both feet firmly on the dancefloor and is already a Top 10 club hit.

Nate says: “High Times is my favourite track on the album. It’s got so much energy and we get amazing reactions to it in the live sets.”

Fans will have another chance to see Nate perform the track live as he embarks on a series of high profile gigs in the coming weeks. On October 12 he joins forces with American soul/hip hop stars Musiq Soulchild & Genuwine for an incredible lineup of live talent at the Troxy in East London. A performance alongside Omar and The Lifeforce Band at the Royal Festival Hall on October 26 is followed the night after by a support slot for living legend Alexander O’Neil at The Drum in Birmingham on Oct 27th. Soul fans eat your heart out… All this before Nate headlines the Indigo O2 in Greenwich on Dec 4!

No wonder Radio 1 online dubbed him ‘The King of UK Soul’.

High Times blends Nate’s soulful vocals around syncopated bass punches, driving synths and subtle electro stylings. Touch Magazine describe it as “a delicious slice of soul with drum & bass and house sprinkled on the top” . The video was shot in London by director Rob Tucker, the concept being ‘a day in the life’ of our soul hero.

Nate spent the summer performing abroad including Nice’s Jazz Festival, the Festivalbar in Sicily and the Venice Music Awards. “I performed alongside Sly and The Family Stone,” says Nate, “those guys are some of my all-time idols.” He returned to discover he’s up for two gongs at the upcoming Urban Music Awards including Best Album for Kingdom Falls. The album, the follow up to 150,000 selling debut Set The Tone features a stunning set of songs and has been described as ‘glorious’, ‘fantastic’, ‘masterful’ and even a ‘masterpiece’ by UK critics.
