PETROL (UK 2008)
22/11/2008 By
Petrol ( UK 2008 )
Cast your mind back to a world from the past ....a world when guitar bands were truly inspirational and innovative. A time before Pearl Jam and their corporate cocaine buddies reduced everything to a nasty vomit stain on a $50 T-Shirt......The Pixies, Sonic Youth, Big Black and Girls Against Boys. A time when loud music meant ‘LOUD MUSIC’ and not just the producer adding ‘excitement to the mix’ ....when discord meant DISCORD and not just playing a in a minor key.
These bands left a legacy...a blueprint...a way of creating sound which surpassed those before them and those who followed.
Take a Showman, an Introverted Extrovert and a Lazy Frustrated Artist- picking up the blueprint, building a new world and adding new cities and towns to their landscape.
These are the sound and songs of Petrol, their rules and their landscape.
Unashamedly doing, what they want to do, how they want to do it. Petrol take all that is wonderful from noise, discord and harmony and deliver it to their audience in one big ‘Fuck you’ Hug.
Releasing their own music on their own record label, gives this Wiltshire three piece total control over their passion for innovation and artistic control....and NOISE
No management, No corporate sponsorship, No compromise
Petrol are a back to basics – basically untypical challenge to the mediocre offerings of all other UK pretenders.
Listen to their music....if you don’t like it...they would love to say, that they care about what you think.....but in all honesty...they really don’t.
